Meet Lydia

Hello, I’m Lydia. I am delighted to be a part of your wellness journey. I have worked in the medical field since 1981. I am board certified in Family Practice and Adult Psychiatry. My experience includes assessment, evaluation and treatment of physical and psychological conditions. I have also worked as a clinical instructor and educator.

While I started my NP career in Family Practice, I have focused on psychiatric medication management since 2011. Having the experience of treating physical and mental health has given me the advantage of understanding overall health issues and how we respond to medications and other treatments.

Being very mission–minded, my goal is to start the day finding ways to help each client, seeing each one as an individual and listening well. I have the pleasure of traveling on international medical mission trips several times a year and am always humbled by how blessed America is a nation. Every day is a mission, no matter what country I am in.

I love to learn. Our profession requires continuing education and I have also maintained my licensure and certification as a family practitioner.

A little about me….I love exercise and the outdoors. My black lab still trains with me running drills for retrievers, even though he is far better trained than I am. I am involved with my grandchildren and family, traveling back home to Georgia every chance I get. Of course, you have to stop at the beach to make that trip and I love the ocean. I love anything LSU ! I watch more football than necessary; collegiate and professional. Reading and playing Words with Friends are also fun for me.

A little about our sessions….Our sessions are a partnership where we collaborate to identify goals and strategies that resonate with you. About 75 per cent of my decisions depend on subjective information you provide. Initial visits are about 45 minutes with follow ups are 15 minutes. I value each person as a child of God who should be treated with respect. As a team, we value each other and I can often provide helpful referrals to other team members. I believe in the unwavering love of an Almighty God and the right for everyone to experience and grow with Him.

The best way to reach me is through the office. I received phone messages even when I am not in the office. I respond Monday through Thursday.
