Meet Dreshellia
My name is Dreshellia Hargrave, but please feel free to call me Shell. I began my journey as a healthcare provider in 2014 as a nurse practitioner focused on acute care patients in a hospital setting. I also have experience in primary care, substance use, and hospice services. As a medical provider, I have gained extensive experience managing complex conditions across a wide range of patient populations. During that time, I noticed a consistent gap in the care of my patients’ psychosocial and emotional health -an observation that became the catalyst for my advancement in psychiatry. I went on to complete a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health at McNeese State University in 2024. Since then, I’ve found a deep fulfillment in supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and providing medical management as they progress forward in mental health and wellness.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family. I am a proud mom of boys. My days are often filled with sun, sports, and scrapes. I am a Southern University Alumna, so I enjoy attending football games whenever I can. I enjoy traveling and making memories. When the men fish, I find joy in quiet moments, such as reading, crafting, and nurturing my spiritual life. I believe spiritual wellness is a powerful part of healing, and I incorporate it into the care I provide.
Each session and treatment plan I create is fully individualized, tailored to your unique story, needs, and goals. There is no one-size-fits-all care. I am here to meet you exactly where you are. My commitment to God and my calling to serve will guide every aspect of my work. I would be delighted to work with you in a way that is rooted in compassion, integrity, and faith.
